The final revelation of Allah (The One True Creator of everything). It was revealed to the final Prophet, peace be upon him, to mankind in the 7th Century. It is a guidance for humans. Muslims believe in it, without doubt, recite it daily, and try their best to memorize it. It increase eeman (faith) and elevates one's rank in dunya (this life) and akhira (afterlife).

14.4.14: Reading a beautiful book by Hamza Yusuf - Purification of the Heart - Translation and commentary of Imam al-Mawlud's Matharat al-Qulub. So far so good. The first disease is Miserliness.
14.3.14: One year on! How did things go?- I'll tell you one thing: No matter how stressful and annoying life can get, everything is forgotten so easily. After the stress of the Libyan wedding, the honeymoon in Istanbul, the settling down in Tripoli and working again, the annoying relatives, I can honestly say that Marriage life is relaxing, Alhamdulillah. The wife is fine, masha-Allah. The work is OK. Life in general is getting somewhat serene, Alhamdulillah a million times over. Now to wait for the kids!!!
13.3.13: Starting a new Project: Going to try and open a new English Language School in Tajoura, Tripoli, insha-Allah. Partner-ship with 'English in Dublin' School in Ireland. Oxford Curriculum and Irish Certificates, insha-Allah. Hope all goes well...
13.2.13: The days are flying by. So much to do, including prepare for marriage soon, insha-Allah. I can't wait! It's been a long wait but it's worth it, Alhamdulillah. A new life. It looks like Allah has protected me (once again) and chosen a good wife for me, Alhamdulillah. Time will tell now. I await my Destiny. I plan to marry this May or June latest, be-idhni-illah. I wish. I hope. I pray. I will verify the good news by March, i-A.!!!
13.1.13: Trying my best to get back to memorizing the Qur'an and reading the Seerah (biography of the Prophet) and life of 'Umar Ibn Al-Khattab, ra. The days are getting colder; it looks like it's going to snow anytime soon in Ireland! I can't wait to get back to Libya in February!!!
21.12.12: Helped homeless people on the streets of Dublin. Gave them tea, coffee, sandwiches and biscuits. Chatted. It was pouring rain. Got soaked to the bone. Don't know how they survive the freezing Irish weather of Winter!!
7.12.12: Got back to Ireland for a couple of months to relax. The first thing I did was go to the local Library and take out a couple of inspirational books: Papillon (for the third time) and The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari (quite good). The other books that have inspired me and helped me on a daily basis are: 'The Richest Man in Babylon', 'Meditation' by Eknath Easwaran and 'Unlimited Power' by Anthony Robbins. Also, 'The Master Key to Riches' by Napoleon Hill.
5.12.12: Spent one night in Istanbul. Saw the beautiful old city of SultanAhmet. Amazing sites, Masajid and great restaurants. Met a few down-to-earth locals. Great laugh!
27.11.12: Finished with the Sheraton Crew (English Training). Met some really nice people. Wish them all the best in their future...

What I've Been Up To
18.6.19: Almost finished R. Branson's "Just Do It", his adventures and stories from his life. He has so many, repeating the same stories and lessons. I suppose it's another perspective; lucky, old, bored man?! Another book I'm going through is "The Return" by Hisham Matar, a Libyan author living in New York. It's an account of his trip back to Libya after the revolution of 2011; a beautifully written account of loss, bereavement and the relationship between father and son.
18.8.18: The great days of Dhul-Hijjah, and the Day of 'Arafat, and 'Eid ul-Udha. This life goes round and round, repeating itself, bringing us right down and then back up. It sure is a roller-coaster ride of exhilaration and depression. Some people have it made, happy with their lot, enjoying their riches, laughing; while others get the raw deal of the stick, live in misery and pain, and are absolutely unfortunate in their lives. I wish the very best for everyone I know. Be patient.
8.8.18: The last update for books I have read recently. It's been mostly James Joyce's biography by Gordon Bowker, who has eloquently written about his hero. Very good book. Highly recommended, especially if you want to know the secrets behind Ulysses and Finnegans Wake. I am thinking of adding a new link, which will be a short quick review of the main books I've read in my life. Will start this next week, hopefully: 18.8.18 - And another blog to market my new product Top Reset.
18.6.18: Although I have been very busy with so many personal issues in Dublin, I still get the time to look at some of my online accounts. Life can be so demanding and too many obstacles crop up and ambush you. Ideas come and go like dreams. Friends get sick. Parents getting old. Children growing fast. Before you know it, you're looking back either in regret or in tranquility (at the life you lived).
18.1.18: Started reading an exciting and informative story about Vietnam by Philip Caputo called "A Rumor of War" last week. I'm half-way through it, and it is excellent story-telling; funny, gripping and inspirational. One of the best books I've read so far. Up there with "This Blinding Absence of Light", "The Forgotten Soldier", and "Papillon".
17.7.17: Reading a true story by John Grisham called 'The Innocent Man'. Very interesting indeed. The days are flying by. Also read David Bowie's biography: 'Strange Fascination' and Bob Dylan's Chronicles. It has been a boring summer. Nothing new!
7.2.17: Thinking about starting something new, hopefully it works out. Fastlane Millionaire has changed my world view a bit. just go for it., don't depend on anyone. Quit your job. Go for the idea you've always dreamt of.
16.6.16: Living the country life in Kilcock, nice scenery near Maynooth and surrounding areas. Reading The Miracle Morning and trying to get by in this cold miserable country!
15.5.15: Well, not quite! Another month. The weather is getting better in Eire. I have just finished reading 'Guantanamo Diary', which is very good. I feel sorry for the innocent detainee who is still in Guantanamo after over thirteen years (since 2002)! We take so many things for granted. May Allah help him and us in Dunya and Akhira.

2014: Djerba Island. Tunis Capital. El-Mersa Beach Resort. Expensive. Stayed in a five-star hotel Golden Tulip ElMersa, where Libyan government officials were having a peace-talk meeting!!! Dignity/Haftar's men and Libya Dawn in the same room ... It sure was scary (anything could happen). ElMersa was beautiful though.
2013: Turkey. Istanbul. Amazing. Beautiful city indeed. ... A mind-blowing two weeks in SultanAhmet, Aksaray, Taksim and Emonunu...
2011: London. Eye-opener. Big. Old. Nice. Enjoyable!
Dhul Hijja 1433: Jedda, Medina & Mecca. Sublime.
2010: Egypt - Cairo & Alexandria. Over-populated! Liked Alexandria better. Cleaner...
2009: Morocco was amazing. Great experience. Friendly and funny people (Rebat). Bustling with life. I must go again (but this time to the famous places like Fez, Agadir, Tangiers, Marrakesh, etc.). I had a very good time, I have to admit. Casablanca was Europeanesque!!
2008: Berlin was unbelievable. unbeatable atmosphere. Mad people. Partying all night long. A bit of everything for everyone. Well organised and set up. I would definitely recommend it and go again myself.
2001 - 2007:
Malta. As soon as you step out of the airport the heat hits you like a heavy wave. mad island in the middle of no-where! Bustling city (only 2!)!
Tunisia. Djerba. not that good. OK! only there for a couple of days. hotel across from the beach. too many damn con-artists!!! Soosa and the Capital are better. Organized. French and Swiss feel to it.
Germany. Frankfurt. very clean. organized. efficient. everything looks new. Plastic-look city. didn't stay long enough to rate (2 days like Malta)
Germany. Berlin. Amazing atmosphere; organized; professional; historical; friendly, good-looking, educated people; the city that doesn't sleep! (3)
Italy. Rome. Nice place. Nice people (the ones I know anyway!)! Good atmosphere to live in for a while. good weather. good food. good scenery. It was a good laugh. 7/10
Switzerland. Berne. very nice city. nice enough people. very good atmosphere to live in. organized. Geneva. like Paris. Neutral city of Europe.
France. Paris. beautiful place. not bad people. great laugh. hectic enough. For the rich and famous!!! Ever-changing weather. good food. excellent scenery. Mad place. Full of Algerians and some Moroccans. Madness!
